Please join your fellow sheriffs, deputies and members of the General Assembly for VSA’s Legislative Reception on  Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Hear about VSA’s legislative efforts and receive talking points to help you when speaking with your members of General Assembly on behalf of VSA. On Wednesday, January 18, 2023; sheriffs and deputies are requested to meet with their members of the General Assembly to discuss the VSA’s legislative efforts, focusing on pay initiatives and other pending issues that may affect sheriff’s offices. We need to send a strong message of unity for VSA’s legislative efforts.

Tuesday, January 17, 2023

• Arrive in Richmond and Hotel Check-in (hotel accommodations must be made on your own)

• 6:00 to 8:00 pm – VSA Legislative Reception – Riverfront Plaza Atrium

Wednesday, January 18, 2023

• Breakfast on your own

• 7:30 am - Sheriffs and deputies will meet for coffee with the Honorable Winsome Earle-Sears, Lieutenant Governor of Virginia at the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.
  

• 8:15 am - Sheriffs, deputies and staff should visit with their respective members of the House of Delegates and Senate in the Pocahontas Building to discuss the VSA's legislative efforts.

• 11:15 am – Group photo on the Capital Steps (please be prompt, as we will need to move quickly into the galleries)

• 11:45 am – Please be in the House of Delegates or Senate Galleries for introductions by a member of the House/Senate

• 2:00 - 3:00 pm - Sheriffs and deputies will meet for a visit with the Honorable Jason Miyares, Attorney General of Virginia at the Office of the Attorney General.
  

Please plan on attending and flooding the halls of the Pocahontas Building with sheriffs and deputies. I look forward to seeing you on January 17^th & 18^th for the VSA Day at the Capitol.
